Interoperability Standards Adoption and Implementation Handbook

Model for handbook is A Pattern Language. This consists of short descriptions of topics with rich links to related topics. Here is a template for a pattern, and an example and another examplecc. The following topic lists are available:

The Rules

  • You don't talk about what you have written.
  • You do talk about new topics and concepts.
  • Make a note of stories…. DO NOT TELL STORIES
  • No editing
  • Follow the template.
  • Keep it simple.
  • If you write too much, you are probably off on a tangent that deserves a new topic. Make a link to the new topic page.
  • No talking during writing periods.

Format

  • Assign a topic to each person.
  • Write in the 'cone of silence' for 20 minutes on that topic.
  • Meet back in the group to talk about new topics and concepts that need to be developed.
  • Rationalize topics.
  • Repeat.

Space

  • Need a common meeting room for 6-10 people and individual rooms for each person to write.
  • Easels for parked topics, story reminders

Tech

  • Write into the TZ wiki structure.
  • One topic per page (template).
  • Kitchen timer.

Template for topics

  • What this topic is about and why it is important (one paragraph)
  • What do you need to know to make decisions on this topic (assessment).
  • What should you do to implement/decide (content).
  • What happens next.

Timing

Two (or three) days. January 21, 22, 23 (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday)
